Raising the profile of

Child Protection in Queensland

The Child Protection Practitioners Association of Queensland Inc. (CPPAQ) is committed to enhancing collaborative professional relationships and practice across the child protection and legal systems. By fostering strong networks and encouraging information sharing, we ensure that practitioners from all disciplines are equipped with the tools and support they need to effectively safeguard children and young people. Through supporting multidisciplinary professional development, CPPAQ ensures that practitioners stay informed on the latest developments in child protection law, policy, and practice, ultimately improving outcomes for vulnerable children and families.

We advocate for the active involvement of highly skilled and specialist practitioners in child protection work, recognising that expertise in diverse fields strengthens the overall system. CPPAQ also promotes the use of high-quality research to inform practice, ensuring evidence-based decision-making is central to all child protection efforts.

Additionally, CPPAQ is dedicated to lobbying for legal mechanisms that guarantee all children, young people, and their families have access to justice. We actively advocate for the establishment and adequate funding of these mechanisms, ensuring that every child has the support they deserve. Our mission is to drive systemic improvements in child protection law, policy, and practice, creating a safer, more just environment for children across Queensland.
